Aaron and I met in 6th grade at Norwood Middle School in 1998. We had an instant connection and became lifelong friends. There were times in our relationship where we thought about dating, but because of God’s perfect timing, we never dated until our Junior year of college at the University of Tennessee.

After 8th grade, I think we both believed that someday/somehow we would end up together. No one has ever been as sweet and considerate of me than Aaron–even when we both were dating other people. We have always taken care of each other in a way that perfectly complements one another.

After spending middle school, high school, and college as best friends, we (okay, maybe it was me) decided it was time to really talk about our relationship. (Aaron says it was always up to me…) On New Year’s Eve, 2007, we decided it was time. And right then we knew we would be together for the rest of our lives. Throughout our year and a half dating, God blessed us so much by allowing us to work out some kinks and areas of growth that we both needed. We were both so ready by the time the proposal came in August 2009!

Totally awesome–he flew home from Texas one weekend and I had NO clue he was coming in!!! When I found the beginnings of a scrapbook with a sweet letter in my bathroom at my house, I knew he was home and I knew we were getting engaged soon! He took me on a 4 hour scavenger hunt through highlights of our past, present, and future together including where we first met, went to school together, church, where I work, and then our future of being newlyweds, having children, and growing old together. I found him at my dad’s house on the front porch swing where we used to sit and talk and drink hot chocolate for hours when we were younger. He got down on one knee and gave me my last page of my scrapbook that said– “Marry Me!!” I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend!
